Spring is officially here! Finally! Last time I talked about the more pleasant part – Spring Colour Trends for 2015, but today is time for spring cleaning. Yeah, I know...We all hate that job. But what better way to deep clean the house and to take care of the neglected spots during the winter. Spring cleaning doesn't have to be a chore. We can break it down into small and manageable tasks and get it done fast and easy. And here comes my 7 day spring cleaning challenge to help you clean smarter, not harder. It’s time to refresh your home! Just start today and follow the schedule for the next 7 days.
One more thing, before you begin spring cleaning your home - make sure that you are provided with the following cleaning supplies:
- Spray bottle
- Microfiber cloth
- Plastic bags
- Duster
- Lemon
- White vinegar
- Baking soda
- Newspaper
- Antibacterial all-purpose cleaner Paper towels
And, here we go
You have probably heard that million times when you were a child, but if you still haven't learned to make your bed every morning, do it now. It`s a productive start of the day and makes the entire room look cleaner. Then pick up all the clothes from the floor and chairs and put them in the dresser or the laundry bin. Till here nothing different from your daily routines. My general advice is to start cleaning every room from the top (dusting ceiling fans and light fixtures) to the bottom (cleaning baseboards and floors). That way you will avoid cleaning one and the same area twice. Dust all the surfaces and don`t forget about the top of the picture frames, mirrors and around the door frame, too. This is the right time to deep clean your mattress and to wash the pillows and bed covers.
The most dreadful area of the home! But why is that so? Include the bathroom in your regular house cleaning and it will be sparkly clean all the time. Start the spring cleaning with your medicine cabinet. Take a closer look at your products and medications and throw away everything you don`t use anymore and is with expired date. For the shower, bathtub and the toilet use all - purpose cleaner. When it comes to unpleasant stains and odors you can use some baking soda and vinegar. Remove the shower curtain and wash it in warm water on your machine's regular cycle.
This is the place where you and your beloved ones spend most of the time. That`s why you need to pay special attention on it. Declutter and toss unneeded items, clear and arrange the coffee table. Dust electronics and organise cords. Continue with all furniture pieces and then polish wood shelves, if any. Don`t forget the blinds, too. They collect a lot of dirt. Wash curtains, cushions and blankets. It`s good to deep clean your sofa in order to remove tough stains and grime. Move the furniture and vacuum all carpets. For better results you can book steam carpet cleaning.
That is all for now. Four days left of my seven day spring cleaning challenge, but you have to wait to next week :)
