7 Day Spring Cleaning Challenge - part 2

Hello, everybody!

Are you ready for part two of my 7 day spring cleaning challenge? Last week I started a step by step manageable plan to get the house sparkly clean with less efforts and now is time to continue and finish that adventure. Follow these brilliant spring cleaning tips and tricks and your home will be refreshed and ready for the summer sunshine very soon.

If you follow my blog you know that I love to keep my kitchen neat and organised (Kitchen Organisation And Storage Ideas). But I would not deny that kitchen and bathroom are my least favorite places to clean in the house. There are so many areas that need to be deeply cleaned. So, let`s get started. Remove all items from cabinets and wipe down inside and outside with warm water and vinegar. Don`t forget the handles. After a long winter, yucky germs are everywhere. Then pay special attention to the kitchen appliances. Make a paste of baking soda and water to easily remove the grease and grime from the oven. Then clean the microwave. Boil some water and lemon juice for 3 minutes and let's stay there for another five. At the end wipe down with a wet sponge. Clear out your cupboards and pantry from all the unnecessary and expired items. Clean and organise your spice rack and storage drawers. You can include some of these tasks in your regular home cleaning and next time it will be much easier for you.

We continue kitchen cleaning with the refrigerator. Take out all the food and check the labels. Throw out everything that is empty (or almost empty), expired or moldy. Clean the shelves with hot water and vinegar. For tougher stains, use some baking soda or soapy water. Use all purpose cleaner to shine the fridge outside. Don`t forget the handles and the sides where you don’t often reach. Remove unneeded papers and broken magnets. Once you have cleaned your fridge it`s time to organise it and keep it that way.

What is spring cleaning without cleaning all of your windows. This daunting task could be a real challenge. It’s not easy getting streak-free windows. For that purpose make your own glass cleaning spray. All you need is water, vinegar and dish soap. Yeah, it`s that simple. Spray the window and use cloth to wash it. Then dry and buff with the wadded up newspaper. If your outside windows are really dirty, my advice is to wash them with soapy water first. And the job is done. Enjoy your sparkly clean windows!

Cleaning out your closet could be fun if you don’t spend too much time on it. Just decide what’s worth keeping and what needs to go. The rest is a matter of good organisation. “If you have the space to hang everything, hang everything,” Rapke says. “You’ll wear more if you can see it.” But fold heavy clothes like sweaters because they can lose their shape on a hanger. For your socks and underwear use dividers. Don’t let your floor space go to waste. You can use it to store shoes.

That’s it!
