Eco-friendly cleaning of wood furniture and floors

Nowadays it’s modern to use fewer chemicals in cleaning and to replace them with green sanitising alternatives. This is not a surprise. After all, years ago people didn’t have all these commercial detergents. However they managed to do the household chores and to live in clean homes. Everybody knows that routine cleaning we perform often is superficial. Dusting and vacuuming are not enough. Every once in a while you have to accomplish deeper disinfecting. It comprises cleaning of wooden furniture. See how to do it with the help of natural substances:

  • If you want to sanitise your wooden doors, furniture and wooden flooring, use this recipe: In 2 l of very hot water, brew ten packets (about 20 g) of black tea. With this solution wipe the furniture, the floor and the doors. What is essential here is to brew tea at least half an hour (1 hour is perfect). This is necessary to release the tannins. Don’t forget, that you can’t drink this tea, but it’s wonderful floor cleaning tool.
  • You want to polish your wooden doors, furniture and wooden flooring? No problem! Mix 100 ml olive or vegetable oil with 1 teaspoon of lemon juice. Adding a few drops of essential oil is a wonderful idea. A small amount of the mixture is placed in a cotton cloth and spread until absorbed. This mixture will make the furniture shine bright like a diamond.
  • Ordinary soapy water is wonderful to wash the varnished surfaces. Just use a damp cloth. This method is more effective than simple dusting.
  • To achieve stunning results, don’t forget to clean the metal handles on the doors and furniture! For this purpose, in hot water, dissolve some baking soda (you have it in your kitchen drawer, that’s guaranteed). With the resulting solution clean surfaces, leaving some time to the mixture to work, then wipe off and polish with a cotton cloth.
  • However in case of numerous scratches, discoloration and embedded dirtiness cleaning won’t help. Your hardwood floor will need professional floor sanding London.

Heavy chemicals in detergents have hazardous side effects. You’d better use the gifts of nature.
