Houseplants for slackers

You always forget to water the flowers, you love to ventilate in winter and you do not know what composting is? Consequently, in your home there are dead flowers all the time. Do not despair! Still there are houseplants, which can coexist successfully with you. Check them out:

  • Tradescantia. There are different types of Tradescantia (with green, blue, purple, yellow or silver leaves), and they are resistant to adverse conditions. They safely tolerate coolness and thrive equally well in wet and in dry soil. All they need is more light, but not direct, to keep colorful hues of leaves.
  • Aspidistra. Another name for this ornamental plant is "Marital happiness" - perhaps because even at household it enjoys complete lack of care - it tolerates drought, poor soil, lack of light, dust and dirty air. The only thing that can kill aspidistra is frequent watering, and from direct sunlight its leaves burn. So put it into the northern room far away from the window and forget it. However, be sure to transplant it once per every five years. See? It’s not like regular domestic cleaning Nottingham.
  • Jolla (wax flower). This flowering liana will fill your home with a strong flavor in exchange for minimal care. All it wants is enough sunlight and tranquility. If you want it to blossom, do not touch buds, do not remove withered petals and do not replant without need. Put the Jolla in another room in case you plan Nottingham floor sanding procedure. Otherwise dust will cover the whole plant.
  • Sansevieria. If you have not been lucky with other plants, try with sansevieria. This plant is practical inextinguishable - it bears sun and shade, dry air and strong current. Replant sansevieria only when grown rhizome is overflowing from the pot. On the bright sun it is able even to delight you with colors.
  • Cactus. These desert plants live out of nowhere - a sandy soil in the absence of watering all winter, insufficient light. With such care, do not expect from cactus either colors or rapid growth. The latter, however, can be an advantage because it is possible not to need to transplant the cactus a whole decade.

So, in case you have these plants at home, you don’t need to spend much time in taking care of them.
